Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does MyNesting fill inside the holes of other parts?
Yes, MyNesting has highly optimized nesting techniques to save your material. Part-in-part nesting is just one of many approaches that we use to do this.
Can I nest onto sheet offcuts?
Yes, with MyNesting you can nest onto any shape of sheet. Just import your sheet drawing from a dxf file and the parts will be nested within the plate boundary. MyNesting will also avoid placing parts over any holes you have drawn on the plate during plate nesting.
My part drawings are not importing correctly. What do I need to do?
There are several reasons why a part drawing doesn’t import correctly. The most common reasons are as follows:
- Incorrect units selected on MyNesting’s DXF Import Wizard.
- Incorrect assignment of layers in the MyNesting import wizard.
- DXF drawings with overlapping or duplicate entities (try using the “Remove duplicate entities” option)
- Open paths in the DXF drawing.
If you still cannot get your files importing correctly, please email to??support@mynesting.com and we’ll advise further.
What are Nest credits?
Nest credits are the currency of MyNesting. Every nest job you export out of the software is charged at one nest credit. There is no limit on the number of parts within the nest job and even multiple sheet nesting is still only charged at one nest credit. A nest credit is only deducted from your account at the time you choose to export a nest, so if you are not happy with the solution, you can try renesting with different settings, or just exit the software without spending credits.
How do MyNesting subscriptions work?
MyNesting has two different usage schemes. You can either use the standard Pay-Per-Nest where you pay one nest credit for each job you export from MyNesting or you can purchase an unlimited nesting subscription. Subscriptions are best for high volume users as they allow you to export as many nests from the software as you want during the subscription period.
My designs are commercially sensitive, do you (or anyone else) get access to my designs?
No, all your part drawings and nests remain on your own computer and are never transferred from your computer. The only exception to this is when you decide to provide feedback and choose to attach your job to the feedback. In such instances, your data is encrypted for security before it is sent to us. We do not share your feedback data with anyone else and we will only use it for giving personalized help to you, fixing bugs and making our software better.
Are payments on your website secure?
MyNesting payments are processed for us by PayPal on their own website so you are offered the security and protection that is normally provided by the PayPal service.
Do I need a PayPal account to use MyNesting?
No, you can pay via credit/debit card through PayPal even without owning a PayPal account.
What happens to my nest credits if you increase your pricing?
As nest credits are always pre-paid, credits are purchased at the current pricing. Should we increase (or decrease) our pricing, all previously purchased credits are unaffected by the change and you only pay the new pricing if you choose to buy more credits.
Can I buy MyNesting outright?
If you don’t like subscription services, require nesting more frequently, or want to be able to use your nesting software offline then we can provide our NestFab product for an affordable one-off fee.
